Yes but there is little difference between 144hz and 240hz. But its big difference in price. You won't see more fps than your monitor's refresh rate. You get better mouse moment with higher fps like 300 fps on a 60hz monitor would feel a lot better than 60 fps, but you would not see a difference.
How to Cap FPS in CS:GO Open CS:GO and go to the game's options menu. Click on "Video Settings" and then on "Advanced Video." Scroll down to the "Advanced" section and locate the "Max Acceptable Matchmaking Ping" option. Set the value to a number that corresponds to the desired FPS cap. For example,
pewpew_die • 8 yr. ago. If computer is ready to render a frame but you have it capped it will wait up to 8.3ms (most of the time it will be less) assuming you are capped at 120 fps (whatever your fps cap is divided by 1000). However, if your fps isn't capped, when your computers fps drops for whatever reason it will drop more than if it was
Max Frame Rate: Cap Frame Rates, Save Power, and More. You can set the max frame rate for a 3D application or game and avoid low fps. This feature is particularly helpful when trying to save power, reduce system latency, or keep within a specific Variable Refresh Rate range on a G-SYNC or G-SYNC Compatible display. If this happens then I use RTSS to cap the framerate to 120, 90, 60 or even 30 fps in some cases where the game cannot stay above 60 fps. The reason for this is that even with G-SYNC I can *feel* when a game dips below 60 fps. It still looks smooth but the silky responsiveness of 60+ fps is no longer there and I can feel the difference.
Set framerate to monitor refresh rate ie:144hz. Sometimes you may need to set 1 or 2 fps under your screen refresh rate. Vsync helps keep fps within Gsync range and using ingame vsync shouldn't give you input lag, that's odd. I have a Gsync monitor as well and have vsync in NvidiaCP on application control.
Originally posted by: DaveSimmons For single-player games, capping the FPS leaves more CPU time available for AI and other background processing. Some games may use successive / iterative refinement, where you create a fast but bad solution to a problem, then if time permits you create better solutions to replace the initial one.
Nov 24, 2015. 58. 0. 4,640. Sep 26, 2019. Solution. #3. I found out on why I am having screen tearing problems, it's basically my monitor is a 70hz monitor and not a 60hz one and I was capping it at 60 instead of 70 fps. But not only that, my pc cant recognize the monitor as a 70hz monitor but overwatch detected the refresh rate is 70 fps.
FYI if you have G-Sync in CS2 you don't need to cap the framerate, you just need to enable nVidia reflex and the in game Vsync, reflex will take care of capping the fps 4-6 frames below the refresh rate, and you don't end up with the input lag caused by capping the framerate with RTSS or the nvidia control panel.
